Like most women my age, I grew up on the writing of Judy Blume, and her books made the humiliations and dramas of adolescence a little more bearable and much less lonely. I had the honour of interviewing Judy about her latest novel for adults, In the Unlikely Event, at the Toronto Public Library in front of 1,000 fans. She was everything my teenaged and grown-up self hoped she would be: gracious, funny, smart, and generous.
